Boeing PT17 Stearman is famous for its simple, sturdy, and highly forgiving flight characteristics.

Original military types didn’t have electrical systems or radios. Pilots relied on bright paint schemes for visual separation and \"S-turning\" during taxiing to see over the large radial engine nose.

After WW2, surplus Stearmans became crop-dusters and airshow performers for wing-walking and aerobatics. Today, they are highly prized by warbird collectors worldwide.
