What’s in the box
- Flight Radar — the touchscreen unit, firmware already installed, in its to USB-C cable
- Stylus
- QR card that opens the setup Radar by Bwikster is a small desk display that draws a circular radar scope and a sweeping arm. It shows nearby aircraft around a place you choose.
There is no GPS in the unit. The map is centered on a location you save, or on an estimate from your internet address if you leave the list empty. It needs a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network.
Firmware is already on the device. Plug it in, join the setup network from your phone, pick your home Wi-Fi, and it opens the radar. What you can do
- Watch live aircraft as blips on a circular scope
- Tap a plane for callsign, altitude, speed, distance, heading, and climb or descent
- Set range, brightness, theme, and how many planes to keep
- Save up to 20 named places and switch among them
- Flip the screen 180° so the cable can sit on the other side
First-time setup
- Plug the unit into USB power with the included cable.
- Scan the QR on the device screen to join FlightRadar-Setup (no password).
- If the phone page does not open, go to http://192.168.4.1.
- Tap your Wi-Fi name, enter the password, and save. Locations are optional.
- For the full manual, scan the included QR GHz Wi-Fi only (typical home routers). 5 GHz-only networks will not work.
- USB power from a computer or a phone charger.
- The stylus is for the touchscreen. A finger works too.
