This model replica is painstakingly hand carved and then hand painted out of solid kiln dried mahogany wood(from renewable sources) by our highly experienced and talented craftsmen at our Filipino owned factory near the original Clark Air Base in Pampanga and takes about 9-10 weeks to manufacture. Production in our factory is supervised by our own resident British Pilot who ensures that exact blueprints are used for these meticulously detailed scale models custom manufactured and precisely engineered to your exact specifications and that will be cherished by all.

The model will be exactly as you see in the above image of the real aircraft and not the example we show below of a similar model we have made before. In terms of detailing (doors, windows, lights, control surface markings, antennas etc.) and livery or markings will follow the real aircraft image so we would kindly ask you to study the images very carefully (if you require higher resolution images please ask) to make sure that the model as you see is the 100% the same version you require or expect. We request your understanding on this matter due to the fact that these handmade models are traveling in many cases halfway around the world and any misunderstandings or mistaken expectations must be addressed at this as point of time as we cannot be held responsible for the costs involved in returning and replacing the model. The model will be shipped with the stand you see in the images although you may request if you like to change to either 1, 6 or 7 as in the attached image examples (just message us if a change is required).

It is our aim to continue to be a \"sustainable\" manufacturer avoiding the use of man-made materials wherever possible such as plastics, resins or metal in an attempt to reduce our Carbon Footprint and to protect our environment for generations to come. Our models are \"works of art\" and not to be confused with mass made plastic kits or diecast (die cast) look-alikes. We are proud Filipino\'s exporting to all parts of the globe and creating employment opportunities in an impoverished part of our country.

100% handmade models naturally come at a higher price than off the shelf, plastic or diecast (die cast) models but it may interest you to know that an average regular size fixed wing or helicopter model takes on average a total of 26 dedicated Man Hours of work to produce. During this time the model transitions through over 40 different manufacturing stages and processes. The 26 hours are not consecutive and require in-between many days (and in some cases weeks) of drying and curing time as they pass from one department to another making the overall production time from an outsiders point of view appear rather lengthy. Given these facts the time period we quote for production alone is very standard for our type of industry and among our close competitors. If you are interested in what goes into making these models, there follows a summary process schedule and video. Bombardier CRJ-200ER in Northwest Airlink Service with Mesaba Airlines

TheBombardier CRJ-200ERis a regional jet designed for short-to-medium haul flights, seating around 50 passengers. It was widely used in the late 1990s and 2000s by North American regional carriers. One notable operator wasMesaba Airlines, which flew under theNorthwest Airlinkbanner, providing regional connectivity for Northwest Airlines.

The CRJ-200ER’s role was to bridge smaller markets with major Northwest hubs, helping to expand network coverage into communities where larger mainline aircraft would not have been economically viable.

Aircraft Overview
  • Manufacturer:Bombardier Aerospace (Canada)

  • Model:CRJ-200ER (Extended Range)

  • Capacity:~50 passengers, single-class layout (2-2 seating, no middle seats)

  • Engines:2 × General Electric CF34-3B1 turbofan engines

  • Range:Approximately 1,700 nautical miles (3,150 km), longer than the base CRJ-200 due to additional fuel capacity

  • Cruising Speed:Mach 0.78 (around 828 km/h / 515 mph)

  • Cabin Configuration:Narrow, efficient regional layout, optimized for short hops

The CRJ-200 was a derivative of the earlier CRJ-100, with improvements in weight, performance, and reliability. TheERvariant increased range, giving airlines flexibility for longer regional sectors.

Mesaba Airlines and Northwest Airlink

Mesaba Airlines, founded in 1944, was a key regional airline in the United States. By the 1990s and 2000s, it operated as part ofNorthwest Airlink, the feeder brand forNorthwest Airlines. Under this partnership:

  • Mesaba operated flights on behalf of Northwest Airlines, connecting small and mid-sized cities to Northwest’s major hubs inMinneapolis–St. Paul (MSP),Detroit (DTW), andMemphis (MEM).

  • The CRJ-200ERs were deployed primarily onshort-haul routeslinking Midwest, Great Lakes, and Southern U.S. cities to these hubs.

  • The aircraft carriedNorthwest Airlink branding—passengers booked tickets with Northwest but often flew on Mesaba-operated CRJs.

This arrangement allowed Northwest Airlines to maintain a strong regional presence while controlling costs, as smaller jets consumed less fuel and were right-sized for routes with lower demand.

Passenger Experience

Flying on aCRJ-200ERwith Northwest Airlink meant a more intimate and utilitarian travel experience:

  • Cabin Layout:Two seats on each side of the aisle, totaling 50 seats. There were no middle seats, which was a benefit for passengers.

  • Comfort:Legroom was modest, and cabin height was limited (many passengers could not stand fully upright).

  • Service:Mesaba offered basic onboard services consistent with regional flights—shorter routes typically meant light beverage service, sometimes without full meal options.

  • Practicality:For passengers in smaller cities, the CRJ-200ER provided vital access to the larger Northwest network, connecting them to transcontinental and international flights through hubs.

Operational Role

TheCRJ-200ERserved several important functions within Northwest Airlink’s strategy:

  1. Market Expansion– Allowed service to smaller communities that would not support larger aircraft like DC-9s or Airbus A320s.

  2. Hub Connectivity– Fed passengers into Northwest’s mainline operations, maximizing load factors on larger aircraft.

  3. Efficiency– More cost-effective than turboprops over slightly longer routes, and faster, appealing to business travelers.

  4. Flexibility– The ER range allowed Mesaba to serve routes of up to three hours, extending Northwest Airlink’s reach.

Legacy and Retirement

By the late 2000s, the CRJ-200ER began to face challenges:

  • Rising fuel costsmade the 50-seat jet less economical compared to larger regional jets.

  • Passenger preferenceshifted toward more spacious aircraft, leading to declining satisfaction.

  • Airline consolidation(including Northwest’s merger with Delta Air Lines in 2008) reduced the need for smaller jets in the combined fleet.

Mesaba eventually phased out its CRJ-200 fleet, focusing instead on larger regional aircraft. The type was gradually retired as airlines shifted toCRJ-700/900andEmbraer E-Jets, which offered more seats and better operating economics.

Conclusion

TheBombardier CRJ-200ERwas a backbone of regional air service in the U.S. during the late 1990s and early 2000s. ForMesaba Airlines operating as Northwest Airlink, it represented connectivity, efficiency, and flexibility—linking small communities to a global airline network. Though eventually outclassed by larger, more efficient regional jets, the CRJ-200ER played a pivotal role in shaping modern regional airline operations and remains a symbol of the regional jet boom era.
