Virgin Australia has converted ten orders for the Boeing 737 MAX 8 for the larger MAX 10 variant. The B737 MAX 10 will provide additional flexibility, capability and extended range to support its network and operations. Virginwill be Australia's first operator of the 737 MAX 10.
The MAX 10 provides an airline with added capabilities of extended range and efficiency.The airplane will fly 400 nautical miles (370.4 km) farther than today's Next-Generation 737s. This extended range has the significance that a 737 MAX 10 will be able to cover 99% of single-aisle routes around the worldand is expected to reduce emissions per seat by 17 per cent.
