FYI:Pearl of Scandinavia: Originally built as the ferryFinlandiain 1967for
Finland Steamship Co. Service was marketed as Finlandia Line.
In 1975 she was sold to Finnlines. In 1978Finlandiawasconverted to a cruise ferry
and renamedFinnstar. She was laid up in 1980. In 1981 shewas sold
to I.M.Skaugen and converted into a luxury cruise ship, returning toservice in 1982
as thePearl of Scandinaviaof Pearl Cruises. In 1987,Pearl Cruises was sold
to Ocean Cruise Lines.Pearl of Scandinaviawas rebuilt again in1988,
receiving a new bow, funnel and name:Ocean Pearl. In 1990, Ocean CruiseLines
was acquired by Croisieres Paquet. 1994 the owners of Paquet passedthe
ship\'soperation to Costa Crociere, and name was changed toPearl.
In 1995Pearlwas refurbished and reappeared astheCosta Playaof Costa Crociere.
In 1998 she was sold to Mega Wave International Ltd, Hong Kong andrenamedOriental Pearl.
The following year she was sold back to Costa Crociere and renamedJoyWave.
In 2000 she was sold to Eurasia International, Hong Kong
and renamedGolden Princessfor casino cruises out ofHong Kong.
