"Private Passenger Car Annual, Vol I, 1980" is subtitled "Shortline, Tourist Line, and Museum Rosters. Corporate and individual Private Owner Roster. Cars on Permanent Display", was compiled and copyrighted in 1980 by David L. Briggs and published by RPC Publications of Godfrey, Illinois. The Introduction states, "The purpose of this book is to present in a concise form, a car by car description of railway passenger equipment in the U.S. and Canada being used for purposes other than AMTRAK, main line, or commuter service." The book has eight page of black and white passenger car photographs in the center of the book. The book is composed of four sections as show in the pictures above. There is no Contents page but the fifteen page Index has an alphabetical cross-reference of every entry in the book. The pictures above show the actual front and back of the covers, the four section titles, each followed by a sample page and two of the eight picture pages. The book has a softcover with no dust jacket, has no ISBN or other numbers, measures 6 by 9 by 3/8 inches and is 158 pages long. It was originally listed on for $28.
