This listing is for an antique / vintage Goodyear Tire 10 years of Friendly Relations Cast Iron Art Deco Plaque / Award. Given by Goodyear to a local dealer or liscenced retailer sometime in the 1920s-1930s. It is marked by the maker “The Medallic Art Co , NY”. It is a solid piece of cast iron with a brass / gold finish. It has a fantastic highly detailed design, featuring a local business’ name in the midst of some lovely scrollwork. It has a large 3d tire logo which compliments the bas relief design of the rest of the piece. There is an image featuring a zeppelin flying above a large factory & hangar complex, with various vintage/ antique models of trucks cars busses & planes visible bustling around. It is a visually stunning piece, a work of art really, as well as being an award / advertisement from Goodyear to one of their dealers.
The business name is a separate removable plaque. This removable part is Great for its local history, or can be replaced with a plaque bearing the new owners name for a more personalized look. The extremely detailed art deco design is excellent for many rooms and a large variety of decor styles. It makes this an excellent staple piece for your collection, one your friends definitely won’t have! A great collectors item, for use display gifting or decor.
It is in good condition, with no major damage. Some minor paint wear, as expected. No rust issues, chips or cracking to the metal, or other damage.
