This is a very nice brass padlock or switching key for the CMSTP&P (Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul & Pacific) RR which operated from 1847 to 1980. This railroad line started before the Civil War and continued during and after the Civil War. It is a brass key made by Adlake and in excellent condition.
