Airship Parseval PN 28 Original Photo on Agfa Paper :
$20.00

Original contemporary 3 1/8 x 4 3/8 photograph of the Parseval-Natz airship \"Trumpf 1\" over a German city I cannot identify. PN 28 was a small, semi-rigid advertising airship promoting Trumpf Chocolates, founded in 1897 and produced in Aachen and Berlin. Akin in mission to, and about the same size as the pioneering Goodyear blimp Pilgrim, the PN 28 first flew in 1928 and made approximately 1,200 flights throughout Germany until retired in 1933. PN 28 made a few appearances with the Graf Zeppelin and was a popular attraction at airshows. Operational data for this airship is scarce aside from Jane\'s Pocket Book of Airships which does not note the dates of flights, how many per day, etc. Trumpf 1 was able to carry only one passenger in addition to the pilot, so passenger service, if such existed, was secondary mission to advertising. PN 28 was unique in being permitted to use its builder designation as its displayed license, a trait unique to German airships and flown only by six other aircraft, two other Parseval-Natz airships, The Graf Zeppelin, Hindenburg and LZ 130. Shows wear commensurate with ephemera from the late 1920s though overall good condition. Thanks for looking at this and my other sales.
