WWI 1917 Wood Airplane Propeller, Curtiss H, US Navy, 96\" long, NO RESERVE: $35.00
- Beautiful authentic WWI Wood airplane propeller built by Hartzell for a 1917 US USN Navy Curtiss Aircraft Model H, Long Range Flying Boat, powered by a Liberty Engine. These aircraft were used, among other things, to carryout anti-submarine patrols up and down the coast in WWI. I believe the prop is made from walnut. A bit of damage to the copper sheathing on the tip but still looks great. Propeller is 96\" long, marked 8\'X5\'3 P2454,5000 8016698 with 2 Navy Anchor stamps.. Brass covers the leading edge of both blades. This propeller is in remarkable condition and is now over 100 years old. This is a great collectors piece.
- Buyer pays shipping of $150 in the lower 48.

Measuring the hub of the propeller it appears that this prop was built for an OX-5 engine and was likely built for a JN-4, a Curtiss Jenny. Time period would remain the same.
