Vintage China Clipper AIR MAIL Poster SFPO 1937 Pan American Airways:
$155.00

A great, rare vintage poster for the China Clipper. The China Clipper was the first plane used by Pan American Airways when they started the first Trans-Pacific Air Mail service in 1935. The plane took off from San Francisco with its first airmail cargo in November of 1935 and worked until 1945 when it was destroyed in a crash in Trinidad and Tobago. The poster is in very good condition. Poster gives rates for sending the mail to various locations. Hard to find poster and most I've seen are in Chinese on the lower section. This poster is all in English. On card stock, it measures about 16 1/2" by 13 1/4". Has edge yellowing/soiling due to age (especially right edge), some edge wear and a corner chip on upper right. Also minor storage surface marks. Bottom is marked S.F.P.O. 10-12-37 - 200. (SFPO is San Francisco Post Office). Nice picture. Suitable for framing. Displays great. Will ship flat via Priority Mail. Please email any questions. Thanks.
