For sale today is a collectible and vintage Chad Valley earthly world globe in tin plate dating from the 1960s could be a little earlier. The globe is generally in good condition but has seen some use, the globe itself has some indentations to its body and some surface wear aswell but the countries of the world and the printing can be seen clearly, the base is in good order too. The upper stand on the base has instructions on how to use the time element located to the top of globe near the finial. The upper stand also has printed \"Chad Valley Made in England\" and the royal logo (by appointment.) I dated this globe from the 1960s or maybe earlier because of some of the countries on the globe for example : The now African country of Tanzania is shown as Tanganyika still, Tanganyika existed from 1961 until 1964 when it became fully independent, and British Somaliland was dissolved in 1960 and Bangladesh gained independence from Pakistan in 1971 after a long civil war.A very nice vintage globe with history and ideal for the home, school or office.
