$400

For sale we offer a beautiful 19 inch Charles Lindbergh 1950's bust. This rare bust weighs 17 pounds 5 ounces. It has a really nice wood base supporting it. It has a couple of small flaws but is in overall good condition. We have never seen another one like it. We are not sure if it was made by a private artist or otherwise. The great thing about chalkware is it can easily be repainted if desired. It is truly a museum quality display piece. Thanks so much for looking and please let us know if you have any additional questions.
Charles Augustus Lindbergh(February 4, 1902 – August 26, 1974) was an American aviator, military officer, author, inventor, and activist. At the age of 25 in 1927, he went from obscurity as aU.S. Air Mailpilot to instantaneous world fame by winning theOrteig Prizefor making a nonstop flight fromNew York CitytoParis. Lindbergh covered the 331⁄2-hour, 3,600-statute-mile (5,800km) flight alone in a purpose-built, single-engineRyanmonoplane, theSpirit of St. Louis. Although not thefirst non-stop transatlantic flight, this was the first solotransatlantic flight, the first transatlantic flight between two major city hubs, and the longest transatlantic flight by almost 2,000 miles, thus it is widely considered a turning point in the development of aviation.
