RE. 8 “Harry Tate” World War I 1/72 built model (Airfix) fully painted weathered:
$6.84

This is a 1/72 scalebuilt model of the first world war aircraft, the RE.8 (Reconnaissance Experimental 8) nicknamed the “Harry Tate” after a famous music hall singer and is constructed using the well-known Airfix kit. It is sold as seen and is fully painted and weathered in authentic RFC (Royal Flying Corps) PC.10 (dark green) upper surfaces with the undersides in clear doped linen. It would make a perfect present to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the 1918 armistice.
The RE. 8 was a rugged and dependable machine, if slow and outdated by 1918. This model features additional details such as a twin Lewis gun mounting for the observer. It represents aircraft D4689 flown by Lieutenants Armstrong and Mart of 3 Squadron, Australian Flying Corps in June 1918.
There is lots of information on the RE. 8 will happily post to Europe, North America, Australia or New Zealand. Please ask about other destinations. While I pack my models, very carefully and many have arrived safely, certain postal services (particularly to North America) seem to take a sledgehammer to even the most carefully packed models - caveat emptor!
Thanks for looking and the best of luck with your offer!
