Model: Custom Pan American Boeing B-314 Flying Boat Lamp.Description: This LARGE custom made model is a recreation of the much smaller desk lamp models from late 1930\'s and 1940\'s. The model is absolutely stunning! A perfect center piece for any model collection or add little mood lighting to your living room. The lamp model includes the following: machined windows, dual lamps that use 4w bulbs, and includes a 15 foot black cloth power cord.
History: The Boeing 314 Clipper was a long-range flying boat produced by the Boeing Airplane Company between 1938 and 1941. One of the largest aircraft of the time, it used the massive wing of Boeing’s earlier XB-15 bomber prototype to achieve the range necessary for flights across the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. Twelve Clippers were built; nine were brought into service for Pan Am and later transferred to the U.S. military. The remaining three were sold to BOAC by Pan Am and delivered in early 1941. (BOAC\'s 3 Short S.26 transoceanic flying-boats had been requisitioned by the RAF).
Composition: 28 Pounds of polished aluminum.... flying boat, propellers and stand.Dimensions: 1/50 scale. The fuselage measures 26 inches in length, with a wingspan of 36 inches.
Condition: Excellent - Some decal deterioration (see photos).
