This is an actual glossy blackand whitephotograph rather than the more commonly seen newspaper or cardstock variety. The frame measures approximately 9 1/2\" x 111/2\" with the photo being approx.5 by 7 inches,and the pieceremains in its originalframe never opened.
The signature (authenticated bySloan\'s sale House in Washington,DC)is completely legible.The framed photograph has beenpreserved out of artificialandnatural light for over15 years.

112 years ago onDecember 17, 1903Orville Wright, along with his brother Wilbur, launchedinto history with the first ever manned powered flight with Orville at thecontrols. The Wright Brothers were the first to fly a self-propelledairplane. The event was captured byJohn T. Daniels,anemployee at the Kill Devils Hills, NCLife-Saving Station.
