On sale is a unique and scarce lot of a 1928 fundraiser to buy the first Cyprus airplane.
This lot is a true,ORIGINAL heirloom of the time as issued by Kyrenia Bishopric and will add value to any aviation collection,people of military or any collector with a true interest in Cyprus and Kyrenia History.
EXTRA FINE CONDITION

Photos in order:
1. Picture of first cyprus aircraft with inscription "THE FIRST CYPRUS AIRCRAFT, GIFT OF THE KYRENIA BISHOPRIC TO MOTHER GREECE". On the sides, the explanation that the Kyrenia Bishopric made an appeal to raise funds to buy the first aircraft from 4 July 1926 to 11 December 1928. £130 were spent inraising £2,670 to buy the first Cyprus aircraft, part of the Greek Air Defence.
2. On the back, there is an alphabeticlist of all villages that participated in the fundraising, with a record of the number of villagers at the time, the amount ofthe donation, and includs the amounts donated by the Bishop of Kyrenia and the Bishopric staff. £2000 were sent to theGreek National Defencevia telegraph and £670 were sent with the Greek Consul at the time.
3. Draft print of the results of the fundraiser before its official publication, with the same information as above, and the inscription "GENERAL FUNDRAISER CATALOGUE, COLLECTED IN THE BISHOPRIC COUNTY OF KYRENIA, FOR THE NATIONAL AIR DEFENCE OF GREECE, 4 JULY 1926 - 11 DECEMBER 1928"
