FS2004/FSX Granville Brothers Gee Bee Model
Y Senior Sportster
The Senior Sportster was a stretched, two-place derivative of the Model
E Sportster and a direct descendent of the original Model X in-line
Sportster. The first of the two Model Ys built was the winningest Gee
Bee of all, earning more prize money in its long career than even the
big unlimited Super Sportsters. The Granvilles thought that the Senior
Sportster was the best plane they ever built. The front windshield
folded down into the cockpit, which had a flush-fitting cover, to
streamline the plane for racing. Both Model Ys were built in late 1930,
one for race pilot Maud Tait and one as a test bed for Lycoming engines.
The second one was later sold to Art Knapp, who modified it for racing.
This package includes both Senior Sportsters in both touring (2-seat)
and racing (1-seat) configuration. The second Senior is modeled in both
its original and modified configurations. Included are six models, five

FSX LIAF 2009 SCENERY
Perchè Foligno? Immaginate un’estate calda, siamo nel 1988, le
biciclette sono appoggiate alla rete metallica vicino al parcheggio per
le automobili e i nostri genitori sanno che passiamo quasi tutti i
nostri pomeriggi qui, all’aeroporto...è ormai il nostro quartier
generale. L’estate folignate è baciata da un vento caldo, profumato di
fiori, cosa che purtroppo per Milano (da dove venivo) era un miraggio, e
riportava a noi fuori dall’aeroclub le parole che gli istruttori
donavano agli aspiranti piloti che si apprestavano a prendere il
brevetto. E il via vai sulla pista di aeroplani ed alianti, le
chiacchiere e le risa degli anziani frequentatori, militari in congedo
pensavamo noi, sognando, che raccontavano le storie della guerra e
commentavano ogni toccata ed ogni manovra su quella striscia d’erba. Un
sogno infantile, quando cresci recepisci tutto in modo molto più
sbrigativo, volavo alto.
