FSX Boeing C-17 Charleston AFB
The visual model is not as clean as I would want, but fairly clean, and
it looks fairly accurate. The flight dynamics are based on real-world
specifications from several sources; mostly military. The sounds are
accurate based on the engine type. The smoke is accurate after you
install the contents of the effects folder as described above. The cargo
always appears empty, even when not, and this is to simulate the fact
that you would not see the same cargo every time you open the doors; it
should be empty and ready to load. However, you will notice that she is
flat on the ground when fully fueled, and higher above ground when low
on fuel or cargo (user option). You can change the fuel load and cargo
weight to your pleasure, provided you do not exceed the MTOW. This
aircraft flies as close to the real thing as possible, at least based on
my experience. The engines are powerful, and she can climb at 3,000 or
4,000 f/m, with full load, at about 350 KIAS to about 40,000 ft. She can
also maintain flight level at 51,000 feet, and perhaps higher. I am not
a flight instructor, so please do not write me with flight related
issues. Most experienced simmers will be able to fly this bird without
difficulty. Let me know if you have any flight dynamic related problems,
or system crashes, and I will do my best to resolve the issue. Douglas
