FS2004 Alfs_UK_airfields VOLUME 4
Although FSX scenery is a great improvement on FS2004, there are still many small airfields in the UK with little or no details. I have tried to improve this in a small way. I do not have any direct knowledge, or indeed any useful photos of these airfields so do not aim to make them accurate, only better. They were compiled using aerial views from Google Earth, Pooleys UK Flight Guide, and the FSX SDK Object Placement Tool. I have also previously used AFX v1.04 running under Vista (not recommended by Flight1). The main problem seemed to be in compiling 'excludes'. I have now switched to using the excellent ADE v1.22 which has fixed my exclude problems. It is also possible to alter landclass texures with it, a great improvement. I may update my earlier volumes with it ay a later date. By Alf Denham

I only used the standard FSX scenery data (** See note below) so there are no dedicated objects, only generic ones, but I hope it does improve some of the smaller airfields. It was designed to use with FSX SP2 so there may be problemms if SP1 and SP2 are not installed. ** With the exception of Booker in Vol.4 when I have done an extra version with some Rwy12 objects. FS2004 KWHR - Avon STOLPort
Thanks for downloading this recreation of the Avon STOLPort (ident KWHR) for MS Flight Simulator 2004, A Century of Flight. Avon was operated as an exclusive destination for Rocky Mountain Airways between (approximately) 1978 and sometime in the late 80's or early 90's. It is unknown to this writer whether the airport (in any form) appeared in any MSFS title, but being a pilot who flew in the area from 1969 through 1990, and having been aware of the airport and its unique qualities, it captured my interest as something that ought to be done, and was triggered by the release of the EXCELLENT DHC-7 with VC by Shupe & Team. The availability of FSSC and AFCAD2, the only scenery tools used for this project, made it possible. by Stephen "Beach" Comer
