The F-104C (Lockheed Model 483-04-05) was the tactical strike version of the Starfighter. FS2002 FJ-3 FURY
In 1944, North American Aviation submitted a design for a swept-wing day fighter which could also be used as a dive-bomber or escort fighter. Two prototype XP-86s were contracted in late 1944, but were not built until after WWII due to the incorporation of several design modifications which were prompted by German research data. The first XP-86 prototype flew on 1 October 1947, powered by a 3,750-pound thrust G.E. J35 engine. After it was re-engined with a more powerful G.E. J47 turbojet the following spring, it was redesignated the YP-86A, and exceeded the speed of sound in a shallow dive. The first production model was initially designated the P-86A, but became the F-86A in June 1948. By the time the new fighter entered US Air Force service in 1949, it had gained the name "Sabre." FS2002 Boeing B-47A Stratojet
The B-47 was the first all-jet production bomber in the Air Force and was the backbone of SAC's bomber fleet in the 1950s. The Air Force liked Boeing's design and ordered two prototypes. The first one, designated the XB-47, rolled out of its Seattle hangar Sept. 12, 1947. It made, its maiden flight Dec. 17, 1947.
The B-47 was classified as a medium bomber and was not intended for worldwide missions even though it could be refueled in flight. The B-47 proved very versatile and underwent many modifications. The earlier A models had a clear plexiglass bombardier nose and two .50-cal. machine guns in the tail. The E-models were upscaled to two 20mm cannons, the clear nose was eliminated and an optical dome was installed for the horizontal periscope bombsight. By Rey Lopez
